Copy Files From Mac To Ntfs External Hard Drive

FlashCopy Files From Mac To Ntfs External Hard Drive

Yes, Mac cannot write to NTFS formatted drive. Mac Write to NTFS As the default file system on Windows computer, NTFS format is created for quick plug and file transfer for Windows users. However, the proprietary is designed to open and read files for Mac, instead of copy files to the NTFS format disk. Fortunately, using an external hard drive to move files is easy. Just plug the external drive’s USB cable into your PC and copy your files to the drive. After everything is copied, shut down Windows, unplug the hard drive’s data cable from the PC, and plug the cable into your Mac. I need to be able to copy about 2TB of data from an external drive (single USB external disk) to a another external drive (Drobo attached via Firewire). Finder is not an option. If it hits any problem, it stops the process and I have to figure it out why it failed and start over. It could take me months to get through it. The main reason about this issue is MacOS can only read NTFS format files but can not write files to NTFS disk. So if the USB disk is NTFS format, then the copy and paste operation can not operated. So we should change the USB Disk file format to others such FAT or ExFat. But ExFat is a more good choice. 1.1 Change USB Disk File Format Steps.

I have a 'apple only' external that would fit everything but if i copy all the files to the 'apple only' will it be f-d up from the PC files? And what to format it too because I need a PC/Mac external to go between the two, i have got different answers here too.
Does this make since to anyone? I need one external hard drive for PC/Mac use and my Mac only one (that one works perfect). I am working with a Mac Book OS X 10.5.6
I can take files off the 1TB HD but not add any, and most files coming off the 1TB are locked so too delete anything i have to get info, unlock than delete! urgh takes very long time with mass files.
Please help me. I have had the mac book now for less than a week and love it. minus this whole pc hard drive f-ing with me.

Copy Files From Mac To Ntfs External Hard Drive Xbox One

Hi All,
So i make my position clear i am a relatively new Mac user and love the OS but am still learning (from my mistakes) as i go along. I have a MBP running 10.11.6 El Capitan OS. I imported all my pictures into Photo and its great. The issue i have now is i am running low on space. I have Paragon software and run Mac OS Extended Journaled Filesystem. My 2TB External drive has 3 partitions and are all NTFS (hence Paragon) and all partitions have existing data on them. I copied the library to the external drive but when i tried to open it i got an error I would like to put my library onto the external drive but i get an error when trying to open it which i believe is due to the file system.
Looking for some advice on the simplest solution to this issue. If i have missed out any info let me know
Cheers
Franco
